DUI Conviction?

I am about to go up to Georgia to be sentinced for a first time DUI conviction. I hold a Florida Driver's Licence and do not want the state to see the conviction. From what I was able to find, Georgia is not a DLC state which from my understanding means they are not hooked up to a centralized data base.

I was thinking before sentincing to go up to Georgia and apply for a Georgia Driver's licence. I have relatives up there so I can open a bank account and sign a lease. But what should I do at Georgia DMV? I was thinking I could report my current FL drivers licence lost, get a new one. Then, give Georgia the old one hoping they would not notify Florida that I turned in a licence? Sot this way I would have a Georgia licence to surrendor to the court and have my Florida licence to. I can not think of any other way to do this nor do I know if it will work. Any advice, suggestions, ect. would be greatly appreciated. Very confusing stuff. Thanks.

You need to face the punishment that is coming your way. The loss of your drivers licenses.

If you attempt to obtain a licenses from another State and you are caught, meaning they find out about the DUI. Your backside will be the grass and they will become the lawn mower. Believe me if you think that your in trouble now, just wait if your caught doing that. Can you say prison…Possible that you could end up going there if you are caught. They will take you down big time.

Most states are going to systems where their computers are starting to connect with one another, this is due to 911 and also to the high rate of car thefts that are occurring. I receive e-mails from an FBI site and I just read that yesterday about the DMV's, and how they are linking together state to state to stop crime.

I wish you a lot of luck, I really believe that you will be caught and end up in even deeper doo doo!

Don't you think you are already in enough trouble as it is, grow up and face your punishment. You decided to drink and drive and you got busted, you are suppose to loose your licenses. That my friend is part of your punishment for what you did. What will you do if you get pulled over and they run your name?? If you use the plan that you are thinking of, I think it's you that I'm hearing circling the drain get ready to go down.

The DUI charge and conviction (if that happens) will not only be on your driving record, but on your vehicle registration. You may also lose your license for a period of time so changing licenses for another won't matter. You need to fess up to your situation in a responsible manner and try not to think of ways to avoid masking the problem. Sorry, can't help you. Find an attorney.

are you planning on getting insurance? and if you apply you think they could not check on your record?

you would be lying to your insurance company and the state of Florida..maybe in the short run you could get away with this but the wheels of justice grind slowly but sooner or later they would catch up to you..its your call..ask an attorney your legal obligation if your are caught committing perjury..and that's what you would be doing..good luck..its going to cost you either way…
