Time is your friend. Spend a few (at least three- five would be better) years building your resume, stay out of trouble and apply after that time and you will still have a chance.
I think for ten years in CA. I actually heard that yesterday on the news, but it could be about something else, i wasn’t listening very intently.
In some states, you’ll never be able to be licensed as a peace officer.
Other states require a 5 to 10 year period since the condiction (misdemeanor)
However, the fact you committed such a violation would keep you out after your background investigation.
