Can I lose my DDS license for a DUI conviction?
I have had a really tough month. I dont want to lose my career and my reputation. I don't know legally what the implications of a DUI are on a DDS license... anyone? But this time I am certain of a conviction. 96 hours in county jail and fined ...

For a first conviction on a DUI, I wouldn’t be too concerned at this point. It would be doubtful that, unless there were other severe charges associated with the DUI charge, such a conviction would alter one’s ability to practice dentistry. That being said, it would be wise to obtain a good defense attorney for representation in criminal court. The state board of dentistry might give a DUI offender a reprimend; however, I’m sure there are many other MDs who have had DUIs in the past who are continuing to practice.
It is important to remember a few things about legal defense: Never admit to anything, Never lie to the police, Never talk to the police without the presence of an attorney, When asked about details pertaining to the alleged incident: simply say five words "I have nothing to say."
In court, it is important to look and behave in a humble way. Do not wear flashy jewelry or clothes. Wear blue, and never ever wear red in court. Get a haircut. If testifying, do not get bogged down in details – - keep it short and to the point. Do not make excuses for the alleged incident. If you are guilty of DUI, simply admit it. If you have a problem with being addicted to alcohol, admit it. If you want to seek treatment for alcohol addiction, say it. The judge has seen and heard it all!
Good luck. Don’t worry, be happy.
The same as last time you asked.
Waa waa waa. Poor you, you might lose your precious little license. Boohoo. How about the fact that you could have killed someone while driving under the influence? I hope you do lose your license and you have to peddle your butt around town. If you didnt want to lose your career and your reputation then you should have not have done what you did. Bad luck
