Can I Get my Professional Engineering License (PE) with a DUI Conviction.?

I am a Electrical Engineering Student at CSULB. I have my BS in Electronics Engineering Technology, Master's of Buisness Administration (MBA), and I am currently 3 semesters away from obtaining my MS in Electrical Engineering - Power. I am a Electrical Engineering Student at CSULB. I have my BS in Electronics Engineering Technology, Master's of Buisness Administration (MBA), and I am currently 3 semesters away from obtaining my MS in Electrical Engineering - Power. I am planning on sitting for the PE - Electrical (Power) exam after I graduate (I have already passed the FE exam). Will my DUI conviction from nearly 3 years ago cause any problems? I have no other relevant convictions.
P.S. I will be applying to the California Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyours.

    I suspect that as long as you weren’t performing engineering functions during the violation that it will be excused. Look at question and answer #18:

    That is probably best asked of the board itself. There is probably a Frequently asked questions section on a website or someone you can call and ask the question too.
