I'm tempted to send you straight to one. DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE.

If that's the case, they don't usually ask for a licence at check points. Even if they do they will be able to call it in and at worst you will get a fix it ticket.

Just cover one eye with your hand other on the wheel and you'll be fine! cheers!

There are checkpoints everywhere for New Years. I would not recommend driving without a valid license. You are the designated driver and you have no license? What will your drunk friends do if you get pulled over and caught for not having a license?

    Doh!

If you are 100% SOBER tonight, it probably won't be too big an issue. That means no drinks, not a drop – and it doesn't mean you won't at least get a ticket. However, if you pass the field tests and the field breathalyzer, chances are good that that's all you'll get and you'll be able to pay a small fine or show your new license to the judge and be done with it.

However – I would not take that chance if I were you. There's still time today to get to the DMV – why don't you see if you can get out to one and get a new license right now?

You know what… I bet if you told the police that exact story they would just waive you on.

And, once one officer says you're ok… and they'll check if you have points on your license, GET HIS NAME. If you're stopped again, explain the same story and tell that officer the name of the 1st officer.

If you're doing a good thing, and actually keeping people OUT of trouble, policemen will look after YOU.

Crazy it has happened to me.

If you ever do a policeman a favor, they will look after you. If you get a "good kid" reputation, you could nearly get away with murder.

    HIP HIP HOORAY!

    i'm always designated driver.
