Yes, then they can arrest you for non-compliance. Running from a check-point is essentially giving them probable cause to search you.

  5. FRAGINAL-NOYPI says:

A checkpoint is a valid exercise of the police power of the government and you have to follow the rules. The law is hard but it is the law.

First, let's get all English teacher on you:
    CAN you refuse: Yes.
    MAY you refuse: No.
If you are driving a car, you have to prove you are legal to drive. No license, you are not legal to drive, you get a free ride in the back of a police car.

  12. marqueen71 says:

You have to have a valid license in order to drive so IF you are driving you have to have and show that license. IF you were just a passenger and not guilty of ANYTHING else or under suspicion then there should be no reason to show anyone your license since you are not required to have a license. Some people don't.

  13. Marine5 says:

Only if you want to get arrested…

  14. evilattorney says:

If you want to be arrested and hauled off to jail, then by all means, refuse.
