third dui charge in louisiana within a two year period?

He is on probation for the first two dui charges and goes to court soon for the third charge. Any idea of what kind of sentencing he might get? No I'm not taking up for him and I realize he deserves to be in trouble just curious to how much jail time he is looking at ect. ...

    Louisiana – DUI 3rd offense

    A judge may impose:

    Felony criminal record
1 to 5 years jail sentence
    45 days mandatory jail
    $2000 fine
    License revoked 2 years
    Vehicle seized and sold
    6 weeks inpatient rehab
12 months of outpatient treatment in alcohol/drug abuse treatment center
Home incarceration remainder of sentence (any probation)
30 eight hr days Community Service

If there’s any justice, he’ll be put away for a LONG time. Someone with 3 duis in 2 years should not be free to do it again and perhaps KILL someone. I’m guessing the courts are going to agree.

he is facing a while behind bars.. the more than likely complete revocation of his license along with a hefty fine that could be as much as 2 grand or more
plus they could make him do jail time up to 5 years (30 days mandatory) for the others also since he is on probation …. he is facing a shipload of trouble
    plus some home confinement
if he gets a 4th one he could go to jail for up to 30 yearswith more in fines and 5 years home confinement

Being that a third DUI offense in the state of Louisiana is considered a felony, the penalties can be fairly severe and may consist of: a fine of $5,000, a jail sentence of 10 to 30 years, a mandatory seizure and sale of the offender’s vehicle, and their license being suspended for 2 years.

30 day miniumum but I think they can do you for up to 1-5 years.

The can reinstate whatever was on the first two and add even more charges on top of that.

I had a cousin that did 5 years for 3rd DUI. It’s a wonder he wasn’t locked up after his second one. There is people doing a year in County Jail for 1st offense.

I don’t want drunks on the same road as my wife and kids. He should never be allowed to drive again,, after he serves his time.
