In Michigan, how long after car accident can DUI charges be filed?

I was thrown from the car 18 months ago in accident. Since then we have assumed the driver left me to die, as I was found on the side of the road 40 ft from car with noone else present. Now, 18 months later, I recieve a letter in the mail claiming I have just been issued a warrant for drunk driving from that accident. accident was on may 24th, 2008. it is now November 22, 2009, slightly over 18 months after accident.
Sorry, here's more info., my car hit a telephone pole head on, and i was thrown from the car, so my car was the only car involved. We know that i wasn't driving because 1. the driver's seat was moved ALL the way forward, I'm 6ft. tall, I need the seat moved ALL the way back, and 2. the driver door was open (concluding someone opened it and walked away), I was 40ft from the car with 17 broken bones, i was in a coma, and i had a broken femur with a shredded femorial artery, which was causing compartment syndrome in my left leg, (in other words, there's no way i was the one to open the driver door and walk away)... someone left me there to die, and now just as i'm learning how to walk again, and put my life back together, i'm being charged with drunk driving.
and, yes, when they flew me to the hospital and took blood from me, i was intoxicated.

You got in a car accident and were thrown from the car. The other car left the scene of the accident with you on the side of the road. If the other car left, how did they know to send court papers to you? Was your blood tested for alcohol? You left out too many details to answer your question. The statute of limitations differs from state to state, but for this kind of accident it is usually 2 years.

You don’t know who was driving your car? If you were in the passanger seat, how can you be charged with DUI? The person that was driving should be the one charged.
