I went to a CA. DMV office to renew my license. A DUI charge from 1988 in AZ. showed up, what do I do? ?

I had a DUI in Arizona in 1988, I went in to a DMV office here in California. As the person was ready to renew my license, she found this old DUI offense on her computer and would not renew my license until I dealt with it with the Arizona DMV, isn't there a statute of limitation that should have ...





I had a DUI in Arizona in 1988, I went in to a DMV office here in California. As the person was ready to renew my license, she found this old DUI offense on her computer and would not renew my license until I dealt with it with the Arizona DMV, isn't there a statute of limitation that should have erased that 1988 DUI???? I need to drive.

    It always shows up now. Things are different now then years ago. Almost all states have computer systems that talk. Its called reciprosity. You got to do what california wants now or else they won’t give your license renewal.

    No stats. I have a DUI from 1990 it is still there and I did everything I was to do, does not keep from driving legally.

    No, if you didn’t show up in court and take care of it it will follow you forever. Here in Indiana there would also be a bench warrant out for you for contempt of court (failure to appear)
    Get a bus ticket back to AZ and take care of business.
