Good. I hope they lock you up and throw away the key.

The charges WILL be filed. Give it some time. They won’t forget about you. Yes, it could effect your future, depends on what field you are going into.

Yes, charges may very well be coming soon. It is unlikely to affect job placement unless its a job involving travel by car. You may want to think of a couple things-Ive done both. Go directly to the prosecutor and have a meeting. Express your extreme dissapointment in your decisions. How worried you are about your future. Tell him you cannot afford an attorney right now and is there any reduced sentence you can pleed. Or, hire the guy that hangs with the judge. you can get away with murder with the right attorney.

It means they haven’t had time to get to you yet this won’t go away without a court appearance. You need to get into an alcohol treatment program like AA immediately before the court asks, this will show the Judge you are taking the situation seriously. Make sure you have proof of your attendance and attend often. Start looking for a lawyer that specializes in DUI cases the state isn’t going to provide one for you unless you are absolutely destitute. See if your school has a legal counselor or legal aid they can point you in the right direction. If you have to get a lawyer expect to spend about $1500 If you don’t have a lawyer expect to get rake over the coals.

How it affects you in the future depends on how you deal with it today. Most employers are willing to look the other way if it was your first offense and you have gotten your problem under control.
