when i was joining there was a kid who was also joining he had a dui but no other problems. he had to score an 85 on the asvap, he got a 77 the first time but they reschelduled and gave him another chance . so yes you can might just need a little higher asvsp score then you would otherwise. you can do it just study a asvap prep guide at the bookstore relax and take test you should have no problem…. good luck
Umm…a DUI isn’t a felony so I don’t see why not
I was in the Air Force. As long as it is only 1 conviction alcohol related and no drug convictions you should be fine.
Yes just cannot be motor t, Bulk fuel specialist or obtain a security clearance above secret.
Thanks for your question, and you have an honorable goal.
One DUI typically will not prevent you from joining the Marines or the US Air Force if you have a DUI charge. However, and this is important, as you did not state how long ago these occurred, the US Military will not accept you if you are currently on probation.
Here in California, where I practice DUI defense (and with a lot of Military clients), I can tell you that probation, which by law for a DUI is a minimum of 3 years, (and in some counties 5) will absolutely bar you from entering the military. Typically, what we have to do to get you off probation is bring a motion to terminate probation early, show the judge that you’ve approached a recruiter and are serious, and you will typically then be allowed to enroll.
Keep in mind that the former president of our country, George W. Bush (Jr.) had a DUI, and Dick Cheney had two DUIs and were still allowed to serve our country in different high level capacities. All the best to you.
