I had a DUI arrest in 2004 when I was visiting Chicago, IL. There was no conviction, only a court supervision. This was the one and only incident. I was mortally afraid that this information was going to keep me from getting a job in the future. PS- I have never actually lived in IL state and never held an IL driver license.

That was the bargain your lawyer made for you. But note the wording if you ever go for a security clearance, they mention "ever charged" and they will find out (and lying is worse than the DUI). But you should be OK on any sort of private investigation.
