Wow – your statements and that story make me wonder about a couple of things.
First would be why anyone would feel "proud" of someone they perceive to be a fan of their team causing someone to get behind the wheel of their car and drive while intoxicated. Second, why anyone would somehow find joy in anyone committing the act of driving while under the influence. Third, I wonder how your opinions of this so called "Sox Fan" would perhaps had changed if as a result of him storming out, Chamberlain had been involved in an accident that either took his life or ended his career, or worse yet, killed or permanently injured another person. Would it had been as funny to you if a few people had been killed? Fourth, I wonder how you came to the assumption that the bonehead who made that comment was a Red Sox fan. Could be he was just a jerk that couldn’t keep his big mouth shut. (On second thought, sounds like he is a Red Sox fan after all – never mind – you are probably right on that one) And finally, it amazes me that anyone would want to be proud of their fans having the type of image that this so called fan represents. if the same thing had happened as a result of one of my fellow Cubs fans saying something like that, I sure wouldn’t be proud of it. You are getting off on the fact the a person got a DUI. Were you born dumb or did you go to school for that? A person regardless if he is a Pitcher in MLB makes a serious error in judgment and your happy. You really need to take a better look at life and what is important and what is joking material.
