Let me clear something up for you. There is no longer a joy riding crime in California. If you’re in possession of a stolen motor vehicle, that’s the charge. Its 10851CVC and it’s a felony.

The felony evasion and 10851 will guarantee you actual jail time. About 3 months ago I spoke with a parolee that did 7 years straight for felony evasion in a stolen. He’s only been out for a year.

Well … it’s easy to see the person who committed these crimes ain’t too bright!

This laundry list of crimes is a whole criminal career in one incident!

Two definite felonies: Felony evasion and possession of a stolen vehicle.

    One definite misdemeanor: First DUI

Two crimes that could be either misdemeanors or felonies: resisting arrest and hit and run.

    One violation: reckless driving

One crime that could be a violation or a misdemeanor: Driving without a license.

Looking at some major fines and about 5-7 in prison, and I’m being NICE! The fines and restitution will put a nice dent in the old finances … and the time in will give this violator some time to think about what he did that night!

Maybe he didn’t have a criminal record before that night … but he sure does now!
