Do cops ever arrest other cops off duty or not for DUI or ever give tickets to them for any traffic violations?
I have had an officer tell me once when i lived in Hesperia CA that he wouldn't give a fellow officer a ticket or a DUI in his own department. He was off duty and a friend of a friend. ...

No. Even from other departments. When they flash their shield, they get a mild warning to "watch it" and are sent on their way. All part of living in a police state.
No
I don’t know about cops, but I lived in a small town where a judge got a DWI, and I know of another place where the son of a mayor got a DUI.
I know a lot of cops, the majority of them 3 out of 5 or 4 out of 5 drink and drive and speed, etc. most of the time, they are not hammered or intoxicated to a very dangerous level.
But yes they get away with dui’s
But I have heard directly from these cops about police giving off duty police officers dui’s most of the time, they are extremely intoxicated for this to happen and it is sort of rare, if a scene is caused by a drunk officer then for sure they are getting a dui, If they can get away with not giving a dui is the big obstacle and a big determinant of if they issue a dui.
Cops also do drugs as well, but not at an alarming rate you would think.
I would say for the most part, no. Not unless there was an accident involved.
I have seen hundreds given traffic tickets and a bunch arrested for DUI in my large department.
But my dept has about 11,000 more cops then San Bernadino sheriffs do
Have you ever watched the news? At least two or three times a week there is a story about an off-duty officer getting arrested for some driving offense.
Yes, officers get arrested all the time for doing stupid things.
I have arrested a municipal police officer for D.U.I. I have arrested a detention officer for D.U.I. One of the State Troopers that I know arrested a defense attorney. I arrested an Oklahoma State Representative’s son for D.U.I. I was involved in a high speed pursuit with a Tribal Police Officer who was on duty in his patrol car. I stopped him for speeding and he decided that I did not have the authority to stop him. He took off and I followed. My Sheriff contacted me and ordered me to stop the pursuit because we knew who he was and were he worked. I got him two days later.
Leslie may have seen cops being arrested. But has he arrested any?
Cops protect their friends. The law doesn’t always apply to bluish scum.
Not more than once. I’ve been with my father-in-law many times when he was pulled over. He’d show his shield and away we’d go.
When my brother was a rookie (Hayward, CA) he pulled over an obviously impaired driver. The driver’s speech was slurred and he stank of booze. Couldn’t get out of hid car. Turned out to be Judge Foley, a well-known drunk who when he was on the bench let other drunks off the hook. Another unit in the area stopped by and explained to my brother that he had made a "mistake", and the souse was allowed to drive on.
This is just another area of "courtesy" where cops who will swear up and down "We just enforce the laws, we don’t make them" are making and amending the law every day.
Thanks to phones that can be used as cameras etc. it is actually not as common as it has been. But tickets can be lost or misplaced easily.
I have booked other officers for domestic violence, dui, assault with a deadly weapon (it was a vehicle!) So yes police officers arrest other off duty officers more than the public knows. ha ha!
Hesperia huh figures! LOL! Maybe your friend couldn’t personally do it but professionally he can.
You can’t book them at the department that he works for because it’s a conflict of interest. They have to be taken somewhere else. I use to live in Hesperia as well. Also CHP loves giving tickets and busting dui’s when they catch other law enforcement personnel.
I’ve seen both happen several times in my area.
Once, it was the chief of police in my city who was arrested for DWI by one of his officers. He was prosecuted and was fired.
And two other officers who work in this area were arrested, prosecuted and fired for DUI.
I couldn’t tell you about citations… that’s up to each officer’s discretion. Personally, I’ve written 2 or 3 different officers citations, each of whom I had previously stopped and warned.
It may be different where you live, but DWI is not put up with in my community.
locally, a few years ago, the highway patrol nailed the county sheriff for a DUI. . ., and he was a retired trooper to boot.
I have issued speeding tickets to other officers. I have gotten a speeding ticket from another officer.
I have been involved in a number of arrests of other officers for incidents ranging from thefts, disorderly conduct, domestic violence, and, sadly, drug possession.
