I was recently arrested with my 1st DUI. I have no other arrests in my past and the DUI did not involve any accidents(thank goodness). Unfortunately, this came at a time that I am seeking new employment. I was recently hired for a great RN position but the large corporation rescinded the offer when the DUI showed up on my background check.Any advice or help would be much appreciated. I did not lie on my job application as it only asked if I have been arrested for a felony. I am a great nurse but can understand their concern. Also, the company didn't get the background check returned until after my fist day of orientation. Now they don't want to pay me for the day. Is that legal? Thanks.
Even if the job doesn’t want to hire you they need to pay you for the day you were there!!! Sue them if they don’t!!!!!! It’s illegal if they don’t pay you. Maybe next time you should try to tell them about ur DUI before they find out!
