Can an arrest warrant extend overseas for failing to appear in court/probation resulting from a DUI?
I wasn't sure if a local county/state law enforcement would go so far as to track down someone that's gone back home overseas for work and because he couldn't stay in the US legally anyway. ...

Generally DUI Cases are misdemeanors, therefore most agencies will not extradite out of the country because the expense of flying officers over and then flying them + the prisoner back is not worth the money spent. (they will not recover the money in court costs) If you have an FTA for DUI you will be safe oversees until you get back and then they can put the grab on you. (…as long as it is a misdemeanor DUI.) Just keep in mind that the warrant will stay in the NCIC Database until you return.
Navarone is right. "Habius Grabus", if you return!
The agency that arrested you for DUI will not come over seas to pick you up for not going to court. Your warrant will remain active indefinitely unless you take care of it.
It only would be enforcable outside the US if it were an offence included in extradtion treaties. That’s not likely as relatively minor offences such as DUI are never covered under those international agreements. Besides, having a drunk stay out of the country is a good thing, right?
