They still aren’t pushing it enough when I hear that somebody is finally in jail or has their vehicle taken from them and it took 7 offences before that happened.

I don’t think "dui" laws go far enough but they should specify what you are under the influence of. It doesn’t make much sense just to say "under the influence." That could mean a lot of things.
If you had been driving but they caught you sitting in your yard, and they know you were driving, then you should go to jail Drunk drivers kill thousands of people every year.

Lot of DUI laws have been passed over the years – and the penalties and consequences for someone getting a DUi have become more severe and have far worse consequences and can impact their careers/ jobs and future plans.
All the states in USA have DUI laws which have some basic similar tenets.They do have some subtle variations- but most of them on the whole agree in common on
1 Blood alcohol level for drunk driving
2 penalties for first DUI vs second or third DUI – more steeper fines ,costly charges, higher impact on their criminal record

The legal definition of DUI marijuana in Las Vegas, Nevada, makes it a crime to drive while either of the following conditions is true:

1. You’ve ingested marijuana "to a degree which renders you incapable of safely driving or exercising actual physical control of a vehicle," or

2. Your blood contains 2 nanograms per ml. of marijuana or 5 nanograms per ml. of marijuana metabolite, or

3. Your urine contains 10 nanograms per ml. of marijuana or 15 nanograms per ml. of marijuana metabolite.

First of all, sorry to hear that. Hope you are ok from this accident. I think it would depend on the insurance policy that you currently have. Nobody will pay attention if they will cover the loss in case of DUI accident. Find out by calling them and just give them a hypothetical scenario and they should tell you what it covered by your own policy. That is the best way.

Also you can find any insurance company, in your area or national. But you should get SR-22 insurance policy no matter what.
