I went to a recruiting office today but the Air Force recruiter wasn't there so ended up talking to a Marine. He put me on the phone with another recruiter and he asked me about marijuana. I told him I had tried it ten times. He said that when I talk to the AF I should curb my drug usage. I don't have any drug charges. I have some underage drinking charges and a wreck less driving charge(it was DUI, but it got it reduced.) The last charge I got was drunk in public and that was about 2 years ago. Can I still get in? Should I tell them about the maryj?

I was looking at the police reports for my town this weekend and my ex-boyfriend was arrested for "two counts of DUI"...WHAT A LOSER. (in the state of IL) . I always look through the police reports and usually when they find drug paraphernalia they list that...so the "two counts" can't be alcohol and marijuana can it? I am just confused why it is two counts and not one? Just curious could someone please clear this up. Thanks!
Also....he is 21 and it did not say his blood alcohol levels...(like it didn't say above 0.08) could that mean he refused to blow?
EDIT---
also what is this kid looking at? what's going to happen next?
and if he was arrested for marijuana and alcohol...why didn't it say that in the police report and list the B/A levels?

How bad is Marijuana Really?
As compared to most drugs, Pot is the least dangerous. Pot is not an addictive drug. For those who claim it is, anything is theoretically addictive, and there are some people who can become addicted to spring water. So to put it in perspective, Pot is less addictive than coffee. I have become addicted to coffee myself and have broken the habit. You get mild headaches for a few days. I have never had any symptoms for withdrawal from Pot.
Pot will cause some short term memory loss. It's harder to remember a 10 digit phone number. Beer causes the same memory loss as Pot. The effect is temporary and wears off completely. Pot has no long term affects on the brain. I have been smoking Pot for the last 25 years and I still test as a genius on IQ tests. My mental abilities have increased over the years.
Pot will give you the Munchies. You may eat more than you would normally. If you are on a diet, you should factor this in when deciding to smoke Pot. It could cause you to gain weight.
Pot is a sexual stimulant. It removes a persons inhibitions. You are more likely to agree to have sex when you are stoned. You are also more likely to not use birth control while stoned. Sometimes people get others stoned to try to get them to have sex when they normally wouldn't. If you are getting stoned with members of the opposite sex, be aware of this and realize that it can have this effect on you.
Driving on pot. The same with alcohol, someone 21 or over could drink a beer and not get arrested for a DUI, It should be the same with weed, you cant have more than one hit to make it an illegal DUI plus drinking one beer is 75% more dangerous than taking one hit. They could make it so you cant get stoned out of your mind and drive.
SMOKE ALL DAY EVERYDAY! LEGALIZE!!

Im seeing a lot of post on this subject. Some good and some bad. Ive done a lot of research on the matter and finding that a lot of us are misinformed the subject. The plant if legalized nationally could cut the budget in a lot of states a lot especially with the prison population. Ive researched the medical benefits on the plant and for some it would help a lot and for others it would do nothing but recreational like beer. In my opinion the drug companies don't want this herb legal because it does help in many different ways in the medical field. Many would stop taking nasua pills, pain pills, and ect.
This would be a great herb for MS and Fibromialgia patients since pain pills don't help them at all. This herb in my studies, by talking to those who use and have used in the past, relaxes the mussels and the brain. There is not proof that it kills brain cells. Maybe slows them down while under the influence. I also believe that the herb would help bipolar and some other mental disorders for those who are hi strung to slow them down enough to a almost normal state, so they wouldn't have to take so many dangerous pills, that damage there liver.
Now for the governments bull on it slows reflexes down enough to hit someone in a car accident. Well my opinion on that is what it is bull. There is no proof on that either. If it was mandated like beer and cigarettes where I don't think we would have any issues on that. They could only at this time do a road side celebrity test like if you where under the influence of medication. If you fell the test because you cant follow the pin or walk straight then you would get a DUI. I have never heard of anyone running over a child or hitting someone head one on the interstate because if marijuana, but I have with alcohol. These are just my opinions and I want some chatter about what you all think.
to add on the comments on, "how can we tell how hi or how can we tell if someone is hi at the time they are driving" Simple "how can we tell if someone is taking prescription drugs at the time they are driving" If they cant pass a simple on the road celebrity test then they are under the influence." those laws are already in effect. At least in Missouri they are. I take a lot of meds. but wait two hours before I drive how ever I don't take narcotics. They don't help my condition at all. I do take a mild low does muscle relaxer though, which could get me a DUI if I where to drive with in a two hour period. So I either don't drive or I make my husband drive. My state is DUI happy with perception drugs. So yes there's ways they already that they can tell.

this is how it works in holland, and they have the lowest rate of marijuana abuse in the country, as well as the lowest rates of any drug in the world, and has one of the richest economies through taxation and government control over the purities and sale of it, it would work in the US with this kind of idea, wouldn't it? it's unavailable to minors under 18, the use of vehicles and so on is illegal still under use of it, for instance considered the same as a DUI, it's enforced the same as alcohol for the most part yet is less health impacting than alcohol, and tobacco as found by both US and European Union studies over the last 100 years.
i mean the lowest rate of marijuana abuse in the world.

I was recently sent to jail for a dui. While there, I went into a manic state, so they sent me to a mental hospital. While at the hospital, I was diagnosed as a bipolar-schizophrenic. My question is; can i use this info to get a license for marijuana? The reason I smoke it is cuz it calms me down. I cant sleep without it. They have me on lithium and zyprexa now, but i would much rather just be on medical marijuana. It is safer, and it has less side effects. Is it possible to get a license in my case?

My friend and I (Both San Diego locals) were stopped at the US Border Patrol checkpoint in Yuma, Arizona about 15 days ago. This checkpoint is located on the I-8 eastbound and is staffed by US Border Patrol and Customs agents. I had a small (about 2 to 3 grams), personal amount of Marijuana in my car, and the drug sniffing dogs alerted the agents to my car. They had me pull over and asked if they could search my car. They found the marijuana and 2 small pipe's in the car. I was honest with the US Border Patrol and Customs agents about the location of the Marijuana in the car and that I had no intent to sell the Marijuana and that it was for person use only. He asked me if I was aware of the No Tolerance law in AZ, to which I responded No, as far as I was aware in California as long as you possessed less then an ounce of Marijuana with no intention to sell, it was a 0 max ticket. He said in AZ, I might as well have been caught with a Brick of Pot, as the law is different in AZ and all Marijuana possession in considered a major felony. They ended up giving my friend and I a ticket for felony possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The agent said that I was not the type of person I was looking for and actually apologized for delaying us for so long (we were at the check point fro close to 3 hours) . There was no DUI and after seizing the stuff and writing it up, they sent me on my way in my car. I have to return to Yuma in a few weeks to appear in court. We both have no prior Police records for anything, including no speeding tickets, etc. I have read that their is a 0 minimum penalty in AZ.
Does anybody know what I am looking at as a penalty? Or has anyone out there been through this in AZ, as the Customs agent informed me that they stop on average 5 to 10 people a day from CA on the same charge. THANKS FOR THE REPLY!!!

This is a quick survey for my journalism class. Please write your real life first name (and last if you're okay with that) and your 'position' (should/should not be legalized) Here are a few questions: (you don't have to answer all of them, but at least a few would be great)
1. Do you have any experience with marijuana (none, medical reasons, just smoke it, etc)
2. Why you think it should/ should not be legal.
3. If someone is caught illegally smoking it what should their punishment be?
4. Do you think the health risks outweigh the benefits (or the other way around) for someone with a serious disease?
5. Which do you think is worse: pot or cigarettes?
6. Should smoking cigarettes be illegal too?
If marijuana was legal...
7. Should it be taxed?
8. Who will produce it?
9. Will there be DUI penalties for it?
10. Do you think there will be an increase or decrease in crime rates?

A little less than a month ago I was arrested for the first time and charged with a DUI after an accident. After after a search of my car and person, I was also charged with possession of marijuana (7 grams) and paraphernalia, as well as underage possession of alcohol.
I know that compared to the DUI, the other charges seem insignificant, but all that alcohol and drugs that were in my car weren't even mine (Just to be clear, I am very very guilty of the DUI and am not protesting it). The pipe, weed, and beer was my passenger's/best friend's (who is 23, and not a underage). The cops didnt even talk to him. I want to get a public defender and try to get out from under the 3 possession charges, but first I have two questions:
I spoke to the public defender's office in my county and they told me i have to ask to be represented AT my arraignment. But, apparently I have to enter a plea as well? How would they expect me to enter a plea before consulting a lawyer? Are there any negative consequences for pleading not guilty and then changing your plea?
What kind of shit am I looking at for these drug charges? Would it be worth it to throw my main man down for them? I don't want to lose my license for two years because of his pot.
Thanks in advance
This "main man" is a good friend of mine. If i wanted to, I could ask him to fess up to the charges. I just would prefer not to take that route. I'm cool with it if it's just a fine and some drug school.
Oh, and I got arrested in West Palm Beach, FL by the way.

He received probation for the felony and did community service and a drug class. He was almost finished with probation when he received the DUI. His probation has been frozen. What are his chances for NC expungement?
