DUI Penalties Archives
My friend had given me permission to drive us back home from a party…we were both drunk..she gave me permission to drive her car, obviously a big mistake which I regret making..while turning on a street we were hit by a taxi cab..he had the right a-way..I was issued a DUI..the taxi driver wasn’t hurt..we had very minor injuries..a few scratches and chest pain. I then come to find out my friend did not have insurance on her car..or a valid registration…will I be responsible for all this other mess? I wasnt taken to jail..just issued a DUI ticket…her car got impounded and now she’s blaming me for wrecking her car….even though she allowed me to drive it..KNOWING i was drunk ?? I was cited a 23152(A)…what are the penalties for all this mess?
Thoughts opinions?
I live in Michigan, and my lawyer got my DUI pleaded down for me. I have to go to my final trial to find out my penalties in 2 weeks. Just wondering if anyone knows the penalties for impaired (ie. fines, driving restrictions, etc.)
I got my DUI in 03/05. Finished all my courses and DUI fines. Last night- 3/31/07 I got pulled over for not having a red film over a broken plastic piece tailight signal. My brake lights were working fine, only my turn signal didn’t have a film on it and it was showing clear cause of broken plastic. I am a third year college student in San Diego, CA. I am doing well and have been very sober and just drank a little for spring break got a .03 BAC. I got a fix it ticket and a ticket for violation probation- not a second DUI. what penalties can ie xpect? jail time? what can i do about it? anyway i can fight it because i got pulled over for the wrong reason. I really dont want to goto jail..any helpful input is appreciated. thanx.
the first time i got my license suspended for a year and 3 months dui classes and fines. I realize I can’t fight the reason for being pulled over, but i am just trying not to goto jail. what if i start going to AA classes? Anything i can do on my court date to help me?
What do you think the penalty should be for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs? Do you think that this is a wide-spread problem? Do you think that people should have the right to drive while intoxicated? Do you think that our society is too harsh on intoxicated drivers? Do you think that our society needs to be tougher on intoxicated drivers? Can the problem of intoxicated driving ever be solved?
I work with an Alcoholic who got a DUI in August of 2006. The cops released him on his own recognizance and his drivers license was automatically suspended. 2 weeks later , he gets another DUI and this time it was a Felony because of the suspended license, and the vehicle was seized (1997 Suburban). He decides to skip going to court and try to out run it. Someone told him after 7 years it will all go away. We worked in a construction crew and the boss finally fired him for being hungover all the time. I think if he went to jail it would help him sober up as well as keep the streets safer. So, if I turn him in, what will the penalty be for him?
I’m so I think it falls under the zero tolerance law. the code was a 23136. In LA county CA
My case was dismissed by court.
But I just called my Hearing Officers Office and they told me his dessision was to suspend my license.
I blew a .04 .05 and at the station a .03
…….
I just got a great job as a meter reader so obviously I need my license.
My questions are:
How Long wil they susped my license?
Will I be able to get a restricted lisense for work even tho im under the drinking age?
Will they still have me take DUI classes… If so how long?
Will the DMV still fine me even tho Court Dismissed it. If so how much.
If you dont know a REAL awnser to my question please dont awnser it…. Im in a tough position and its not a joke …
Thank you :]
I have no prior convictions for anything.
I have no priors. I am looking for peoples personal experiences. I have already looked up the penalties on the internet. I was just wondering what people have personally gotten in this situation.
