Last year I got a DUI. In my state a 0.08 is considered too drunk to drive. I’m not sure what the limit is in California. Try calling a DUI lawyer for a free evaluation. http://www.findaduilawyeronline.com/California-DUI-Lawyers.html

Suspended license, at least a year. You will have to attend an alcohol awareness class, and pay for it. Court costs and fines. Possible community service. You will be on the side of the freeway picking up trash. Probably 40 hours worth. They may have you install a breathalyzer on your vehicle, again at your cost. Fines and court costs. Comes to around 7500.00 or so. You may want to reconsider the no attorney thing…………

90 days in jail, with 87 suspended.
    90 days license suspension.
    $130 dollars AA meeting.
    $1500 court fine.
another $500 to $1000 miscellaneous fees.

the reason alcohol is legal is because they know the Govt can make money off of citizens who dont know the law very well.

If the Police stopped arresting citizens for DUIs the Govt would go Bankrupt,

It is a Organized Socialism at its best.

I strongly recommend that you ask for a public defender, if only to find out exactly what to expect in your county as a sentence. There are variations among the counties in California. Do not just go in and plead guilty.

In my county, a first offender can expect to pay fines totalling just over $2,000. The court will allow you to pay it off in installments. Depending on your blood alcohol level, you will be ordered to complete either a 3 month or 9 month first offender DUI class. You will be placed on unsupervised probation for a period of years. You will receive a license suspension of 30 days (no driving at all), after which you can apply for a restricted license that will allow you to drive to work and to your DUI class, but nowhere else. After you complete your DUI class, you can apply to the DMV for reinstatement of your license. You will be allowed to do community service instead of going to jail.

Factors that affect the sentence include: whether there was a traffic accident; whether you had a high blood-alcohol level; and whether there were other issues (e.g., resisting arrest). It is very important that you talk to a lawyer about the particular facts of your case, before you plead guilty.
