My best friend got a dui in california a few weeks ago and just moved to Tennessee.?

She is coming back to go to her court date which is when her license will be suspended in California. Can she get a license in Tennessee? Will it be on her record in Tennessee? And.. How can she take the dui classes if she now lives out of state. Please help. I've been trying to research for her,she doesn't have a computer. Please no rude comments.

    It will probably show up on her record in Tennessee (it should if the systems are tied together like most, if not all, are). She will not be able to get a license in TN until the suspension from CA is up. That is, until she is eligible to get a license in California, she will not be eligible for a license in any other state.

    She will not get a license in any other state until her license in Calif is no longer suspended. As for the classes,when she goes to court she has to inform them of her move. She will probably be permitted to take them in Tenn and then send proof to Calif that she has completed them.

    Most states have recciprocity agreements, so a DUI in California is also valid in Tennessee.

    When she goes to court she will need to tell the judge she has moved and request her case be moved to Tenn. He can do this and California will notify Tenn. authorities of the conditions of her case. When she has met these conditions then she will be able to get a license.
