"Penalties for Driving Without a License in California
Driving without a valid license is a misdemeanor in California, and may be punished by probation, time in county jail, and fines of up to $1000 plus surcharges. For a first offense, many prosecutors will reduce the charge to an infraction (which is not a criminal conviction) or dismiss the charge altogether if the person obtains a valid drivers license before the court hearing"
Whatever they are they are not stiff enough.
I BELIEVE YOU GO TO JAIL FOR A SHORT TIME OR YOU MIGHT GET LUCKY AND PAY A FINE JAIL TIME DROPPED THE POLICE HAVE ALOT MORE HARDER CRIMINALS TO PUT IN JAIL BESIDES DUI THE FIRST TIME YOU MIGHT GET A SLAP ON THE HAND AFTER THAT FORGET IT CALL AN ATTORNEY THEY CAN TELL YOU GET A DUI ATTORNEY
Paris…is that you?
I went in on April 26th. I had driving on a supended license, reckless driving, and expired registration. They dropped the registration and knocked the driving on a suspended to driving without a license which is about half the amount. I saw them reduce that charge with several others as well so you have a good chance if you plead no contest. By the way I still have to pay 1800+ for the ticket so consider yourself lucky.
Please forward this to all the people that keep saying that if Paris were a regular person she’d be doing all kinds of time.
haha hi paris
yeah… its called jail time.
The penalties Roman Soldier has listed are for driving without a license, not for driving with a suspended license. Driving when your license is suspended for DUI is a violation of Vehicle Code section 14601.2. There is a minimum 10-day jail sentence even if probation is granted. The maximum is six months. (If there is a prior conviction of driving with a suspended license, the minimum is 30 days.) There is also a fine, which will probably be at least $950 (including assessments). And the suspension will be extended.
