It's a bet I have. I say that you can have a DUI every 11 years and the court will always consider it to be your first- that the other ones will not have any relevance. Basic DUI's- no one killed. Is this true? I just am asking about CA- I don't care about other states. ...

   many states go back through your whole driving record

   Wow, im pretty sure its not even that long in my state you can have only 1 every 5 years then they will consider it your first! That by all means do not go out and get one because you might not be so lucky.

   They only go back 10 years. If you got another DUI 11 years later, then it will be your first.
