I don’t know about the accident part but my son got a DUI in CA when he was 19. CA is a zero tolerance state so they throw the book at you under 21. He lost his license for 1 year and was not allowed to get a restricted license (meaning no special license that allows you to drive to and from work or alcohol classes). He has to attend a DUI Program which is 13 weekly classes (which includes group sessions) and 1,600 in fees plus 800.00 for the DUI Program then 3 years of informal probation. He has to pay 125.00 when his year is up to get his license back and show proof of 1 years of insurance pre-paid.
