how does a cop determine if im high or not? a test? just from observation? what are the punishments?

also are there punishments for just being high in public?

I was driving and the cops stopped me, I had with me worth of weed. I had to do the dui test and I passed. They only took my weed and gave me a ticket. Now I have a mandatory appearence to go to court. What’s going to happen to me there and how much? This happened in san diego, california

so i got arrested for dui in northern california. i was at .12 and was going 85 mph on the freeway. i was extremely cooperative with the police. i have no priors of any sort. what are the chances i will have to serve time in jail and if so is it real county jail with all the criminals??
